Your impact

By donating or fundraising for DeadlyScience this festive season, you can help First Nations young people see what's possible through Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). Young people like Zebastian and Rilee.

Meet Zebastian

When Zebastian joined the DeadlyScience Pathways Program in 2023, he thought it would simply be a fun school excursion to Melbourne.

He already enjoyed science. What he hadn’t seen was where it could take him.

"I never thought that my actions 3 years ago would lead to where I stand today. I never thought about what the DeadyScience Pathways Program could offer me, I only thought of it as a fun excursion to Melbourne.

I wanted to go because I already enjoyed science, and as a First Nations student I was curious about our role in the science field, but I would’ve never guessed the result of the trip.

Experiencing the research environment and meeting First Nations role models and scientists showed me a pathway, one that I still stand on today, one that gave me a future in science.

Because seeing is believing, and you can’t be what you can’t see."

Meet Rilee

The program helped build my confidence by showing me that there are people and organisations who genuinely want to see Indigenous students succeed in STEM.

Being supported and encouraged by mentors and other students made me feel more capable and motivated to continue studying science and move into pharmacy.

Why we need you

Give the gift of a brighter future

Many First Nations young people do not have equitable access to culturally connected Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) opportunities, role models and pathways. This festive season, your donation can help change that.

$15 could help send high-quality, culturally relevant STEM resources and materials to schools and educators.

$30 could provide a culturally relevant STEM book to an under-resourced, regional or remote classroom.

$58 could give a learner in regional Australia a face-to-face STEM lesson with a First Nations STEM professional.

$95 could connect a classroom of learners with a First Nations STEM expert through an online session.

$135 could provide a bundle of culturally connected STEM books to an under-resourced classroom.

$1,000 could provide a culturally-relevant, multi-lesson Labs Kit to a remote or regional classroom.
